Junior High Girls Play at Oakley
The St. Francis junior high girls basketball teams traveled to Oakley on Thursday, January 31st, to play basketball. Both teams got off to slow starts in their games and were defeated by the Oakley teams. Comments from Coach Morrow follow.

"In some ways, this was a bit of a step backwards in our progress toward becoming competitive basketball players. From the beginning of the game, we didn’t seem to have the focus or fight that we had the week before. Oakley is a team that is on our level, more or less, and we should have been able to compete with them. We’ll come back and have a good week of practice, and hopefully be more ready to go for Quinter."

"We had another slow start against Oakley and we never recovered from it. Defensively we played fairly well in the first half, but late in the game we got in foul trouble and let our intensity slip. Oakley was hit some good shots in the last few minutes and put the game completely out of reach.
At some point we’re going to have to learn how to come out of the blocks a little faster. We can't afford to start slow and try to catch up each week."
