In the varsity girls game, the Goodland Cowgirls put on an outstanding shooting performance and easily defeated the Lady Indians.  Goodland jumped out to a 7-22 lead at the end of the first quarter and continued to extend the lead throughout much of the game.  Getting easy baskets off their fast break game, press offense, and half court execution, the Cowgirls got many shots close to the basket.  When the Cowgirls attempted shots from a distance, most of them went in also.  The halftime score was 17-41.  The lead extended to 25-57 at the end of three quarters and the fourth quarter was played with a running clock do to the NWKL 30-point rule.  The Lady Indians hit several threes near the end of the game to bring the final score to Sainty 44 - Goodland 64.  The Cowgirls field goal percentage for the game was better than 70%.  Sidnee Crabtree was the only Lady Indian in double figures scoring 22 points.  Herl (17), Raymer (16), and Gonzales (14) led the Cowgirl scoring.

The St. Francis boys varsity played very well in the early part of their game.  Goodland led by three at the first quarter break (11-14) and by seven (19-26) at halftime.  The Indians worked the ball patiently and effectively against the Goodland pressure defense and it looked like the game could go either way.  In the second half, the Indians cut into the lead with disciplined play and good execution.  Goodland led 25-29 with about half of the third quarter remaining.  The next few minutes were all Goodland.  The Indians did not shoot as well, lost some possessions due to mistakes in ball handling or decision making, and Goodland hit some big shots extending the lead to 25-39 at the third quarter break.  In less than four minutes, Goodland went on an 18-0 run and extended the lead to more than 20 points.  Sainty made some good plays late in the game to cut into the lead, but lost the game 43-56.  Ted Crabtree scored 20 points; Trent Raile had 12.  Rome (20) and Dautel (13) led the Cowboys.
