Cheerleaders Attend Camp
Launch the media gallery 1 playerOn July 9th and 10th, the St. Francis High School cheerleaders attended the Universal Cheerleaders Association Camp in Overton, NE. St. Francis was one of 24 teams participating.
Throughout the camp, the squad worked on a variety of cheers, dances, and sidelines. An instructor from the association coached the squad on a cheer and "Xtreme" routine. The St. Francis cheerleaders won a blue ribbon on both routine evaluations.
On the second day of the camp, the cheerleaders participated in the Camp Championship. The squad received 5th place in the Cheer division and 4th place in the Xtreme routine division. Overall the squad received a superior award that qualifies them to participate at the pre-game of the 2009 Capital One Bowl game in Orlando, Florida on January 1st, 2009. Candice Wiese was selected as an All-Star cheerleader.
St. Francis Community High School cheerleaders attending the camp were: Megan Gilliland, Sarah Guthmiller, Andrea Holzwarth, Cara Hunt, Taryn Richard, Aubree Schlepp, Amber Smull, Candice Wiese. Coach Kristi Guthmiller accompanied the squad.
