Young Indians Defeat Oakley
On Thursday, September 18th, the junior high football team
defeated the Oakley Plainsmen 14-0 on Greene Field. The first
Indian points came on a safety caused by a Dylan Wolaver punt block
in the second quarter. St. Francis scored twice in the third
quarter on a Wolaver 72 yard run (PAT failed). Taylor O'Leary
also scored in the third quarter on a 37 yard run (PAT failed).
The young Indians now have a 1-2 record.
Comments from Coach Jeff Beims: "What a difference a week
makes. We had a good week of practice, and learned some important
lessons about the game of football. Coach Morrow’s defense hasn’t
been scored on in the last 6 quarters, and in fact we have only
been outscored by 6 points total all year. We just have to continue
to improve on offense, and we are making strides."
