Lady Indians Have Busy Week Ahead
Launch the media gallery 1 playerThe St. Francis Lady Indian volleyball team has a busy week ahead. On Tuesday, September 7, the team will host the Colby Eagles and the Decatur Community Red Devils in St. Francis. On Thursday, September 9, Wauneta-Palisade (NE) will be in St. Francis for competition. On Saturday, September 11th, the varsity team will travel to Wheatland/Grinnell to participate in the Gove County Fall Classic.
The matches on Tuesday, September 7, will begin at 4:00 PM. The match schedule for the evening is as follows:
In the High School Gym: Colby vs St. Francis (C); Decatur Community vs St. Francis (V); Decatur Community vs Colby (V); St. Francis vs Colby (V)
In the Grade School Gym: Decatur Community vs St. Francis (JV); Colby vs Decatur Community (JV); Colby vs Decatur Community (C); Decatur Community vs St. Francis (C); Colby vs St. Francis (JV)
On Thursday, September 9th, all matches will be played in the high school gymnasium. There will be two matches. The junior varsity match will begin at 4:00 PM. The varsity match will follow at approximately 5:15 PM. Admission is $4 for adults and $3 for students.
The Gove County Fall Classic will be Saturday, September 11, 2010 at Wheatland High School and Grinnell Middle School. The tournament will consist of two pools with the top two teams from each pool playing in the championship bracket and the 3rd and 4th place teams from each pool playing in the consolation bracket. Pool play will begin at 8:30 am at both sites.

Bracket play will begin shortly after pool play concluded with the top four teams in each pool participating. Bracket sites will be announced the day of the tournament.
The junior varsity Lady Indians will be playing in the Wichita County JV Tournament in Leoti on Saturday also. The JV tournament begins at 9:00 AM. Five teams will be competing in the round robin style tournament. The teams include Colby-Heartland Christian, Garden City, St. Francis, Sublette, and Wichita County.
