Four Athletes Qualify for State

Four St. Francis track athletes qualified for the Kansas State Track and Field Meet by performing well at the 2A Regional Track Meet in Hill City on Friday, May 20th. Athletes placing in the top four places in each event qualified for the State Track Meet.

Garrett Figgins won the regional championship in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 15.46 seconds. Garrett also placed fourth in the 300 meter hurdles with a clocking of 42.90 seconds.

Isaac Schiltz placed third in the high jump clearing 6' 2". Adam Guthmiller placed fourth in the discus with a nice throw of 140' 7". Mason Schiltz qualified in the pole vault, placing fourth with a vault of 12' 0". 

The boys team placed 9th in the team standings scoring 31 team points.

The girls track team scored 1 point in the regional meet. Kaitlin Figgins placed 6th in the discus with a toss of 102' 4".

The Kansas State Track and Field Meet will be held in Wichita on May 27 and 28.
