Two Indians Place at State Meet

Two St. Francis Indian track athletes placed in the 2011 Kansas State Track and Field Meet in Wichita on May 27 and 28. Senior Garrett Figgins placed in the 110 meter hurdles and Isaac Schiltz placed in the high jump.

Garett placed 4th in the 110 meter hurdles running 15.95 in the finals. Garrett's preliminary time was 15.62. Garrett qualified for the state meet with a time of 15.46 at the regional meet.

Isaac Schiltz earned a three-way tie for third in the high jump clearing 6' 0" at the state meet. Isaac's personal record in the event is 6' 4".

Senior Adam Guthmiller competed in the discus. Two of Adam's three throws were fouls. Adam's only measurable throw of 124' 0" was not good enough score at the state meet, but Adam earned a 13th place finish with the performance. Adam qualified for the state meet with a toss of 140' 7" at the regional meet.

Freshman Mason Schiltz cleared 11' 6" in the pole vault event. Mason did not score points, but earned a 9th placed finish in the event. Mason's personal record in the event is 12' 0".

St. Francis placed 25th in the team scoring with 8.33 points.
