Junior High Netters Defeat Oberlin

The junior high volleyball team traveled to Oberlin on Thursday, September 22, to compete with the Decatur Community Red Devils. St. Francis won both the A and B team matches.

St. Francis won the A team match 25-19; 25-20. Journey Lee and Kayla Reed led the Lady Indians in scoring with 13 and 10 good serves repectively.

Kattie Jenik and Katie Schmid each had 12 good serves in the B team match. St. Francis won the contest 25-4; 25-22.

Coach Elliott made the following comments on the matches, "The girls did a great job for these matches.  Although the A team only had 74% in serves, they worked together and hustled to get to the ball and made the plays necessary to win. The B team girls had 96% of their serves in the first set which Oberlin could not return so we had a great first set; then we had a tougher time with serves in the second set with only 72% and even though the second set was close we were able to win that one as well. I’m proud of the teamwork all of the girls showed today, they played hard and worked well together for double wins"
