Kim Queen
Title 1 Reading and Math |
Education:
Kim completed her degree in Elementary Education at Prescott College in Northern Arizona. She obtained a M.S. degree in Special Education with emphasis on Gifted Education from Fort Hays State University in 2004.
Experience:
Kim has 15 years of teaching experience. She worked for a year at an alternative school in Phoenix, with high school students that had some tough issues, but the majority of her time has been spent with elementary students in Phoenix and St. Francis. Kim has taught Sunday School to elementary-age students for a number of years. She has two young school-age children of her own, so she is well aware of the issues that parents and students face today.
Current Responsibilities:
Kim teaches Reading and Math to small groups of K-1 students, First Grade, Fourth Grade, Fifth Grade and Sixth Grade students. She teaches math to Second Grade students. Her lessons are designed to meet the individual needs of these students, and to be implemented in a way that keeps their interest and builds a desire to do well. Her goal is to help these students meet their true potential and achieve and maintain good grades in school as well as average or above scores on state assessments.
