Junior High Boys Basketball Season Opens Thursday

The junior high boys basketball team will open their 2009 season Thursday when they travel to Oberlin to complete with the Red Devils. Tipoff is scheduled for 4:30 PM.

There will be several changes this year in the boys basketball program. The athletes will be divided into A and B teams rather than 7th and 8th grade teams. The Northwest Kansas League voted to allow teams to do this for the past few years due to the fact that some teams with small numbers of available athletes in one grade were having trouble fielding teams. David Morrow will be coaching one of the teams for the first time this year.

Last week, twenty players began practicing for the season opener. Team members include the following players.

Scott Warren and Lennie Olivares will serve as managers for the team. The team will be coached by David Butler and David Morrow.
