Automated Communication System In Place

The St. Francis school district now has an automated communication system. This system was initiated to allow communication from the school to be delivered more efficiently to parents. The system can call (or email) many numbers (addresses) from a single entry placed by school users. For example, the system could call the numbers of all students (K-12) to relay important information from the school such as a school closing, early dismissal, lockdown situation, event cancelation, or time change.

At registration time, parents were asked to complete the information they wished to have in the "alert system" (automated communication system). Several did not complete the information, so home and cell numbers were added to the system from other school information records. The system is currently set up to allow three phone numbers (both voice and text) and three email addresses to be contacted. The data is entered as "Alert 1 Phone" (the first number tried) and "Alert 2 Phone" (the second number to contact). Emails are set up in a similar manner.

As the "alert system" has been used several times in the past few weeks, many of you may have received a call or email by now. Parents are asked to contact the school if the system is not calling the correct numbers or sending emails to the desired addresses. Please also contact the school if your phone number/email address changes.

If changes are needed in the contact information, please fill out the data on the form below and email the information to Kent Kechter at the following email address: kkechter@usd297.k12.ks.us

If you do not have Microsoft Word, you can complete the form below (PDF format) and return it to the high school office to update information for the system.

For the system to work efficiently, it is very important that the data in the system be correct. Please keep us informed of changes as they are needed.  Thank you!
