2011-2012 School Year Rapidly Approaching
Enrollment Set for August 10-11
The 2011-2012 school year is rapidly approaching! Enrollment will be held on Wednesday and Thursday, August 10 & 11, from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM. ALL GRADES will be enrolling at the high school cafeteria with elementary enrollment being held on one side and the junior-senior high enrollment on the other side.
Parents should be prepared to check student information and pay fees for book rental, activity tickets, towel fees, and lunch tickets. Yearbook purchases can also be made during enrollment. Kindergarten students enrolling for the first time will need to bring proof of immunization and a birth certificate.
All students and their parents will be required to sign an internet user policy. Abuse of the school internet will result in students not being allowed internet access.
School activities will soon be in full swing. The first day of school is Monday, August 29, with all students (except kindergarten) attending from 8:35 AM until 3:45 PM. Kindergarten students will attend the Kindergarten Parent Meeting in the kindergarten room on Monday morning from 8:35 AM to 9:35 AM and then go home with their parent(s). The kindergarten students will attend a full day of school beginning on Tuesday, August 30.
The PTA will hold a "Meet the Teacher Night" at the grade school on Monday, August 29, at 6:30 PM.
As required by the KSHSAA, all athletes must have a signed physical form turned in to the school before they can participate in any practices. Local medical professionals will be giving physicals free of charge on Tuesday evening (6:30 PM), August 9, at the Poling Chiropractic Office. High school sports practice for the football and volleyball teams will begin on Monday, August 15. Open house is scheduled for 7:00 PM on Friday, August 26.
The high school volleyball team will travel to Hoxie to play Hoxie and Golden Plains on Tuesday, August 30. The high school football team will play their first game on Friday, September 2, when the Indians clash with the Colby Eagles in Colby.
