Teams Compete In Triplains Invitational

The boys and girls high school track teams participated in the Triplains Invitational Track and Field Meet held on April 12th in Colby. The girls division was won by Oakley with 105.5 points. Quinter placed 2nd (84) and Natoma was 3rd (80), St. Francis and Greeley County tied for fourth with 46 points each. In the boys division, the Indians placed 5th scoring 54 points. The boys division was won by Wallace County with 68 points. Weskan was a close second with 67 points and Golden Plains was third with 66. Northern Valley placed 4th with 57 points.
Girls placing the the meet were: Aly Schlepp - second in the 800 meters (2:45.85); Mikaela Grace - 4th in the 300 m hurdles (55.16); Shelby Cassaw - 6th in the 3200 meters (15:31.08); and Clarice Neitzel - 3rd in the javelin (88' 2"). Kaitlin Figgins was the only individual champion in the meet winning the discus with a toss of 106' 4". Sarah Trembly placed second in the discus with a distance of 92' 5". Figgins also placed 4th in the shot put (29' 9.5"). The Lady Indian 4 X 100 meter relay team consisting of Aly Schlepp, Ally Northrup, Lexi Hilt, and Mikaela Grace was 6th with a time of 59.03.
St. Francis gathered the first three places in the boys pole vault. Mason Schiltz won the event clearing 12' 0". Isaac Schiltz was second and Cody Killingworth third; both cleared 11' 0". Garrett Figgins was a double winner in the meet. Garrett won the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 18.44 and the 300 hurdles clocking 44.47. Isaac Schiltz placed 3rd in the high jump clearing 6' 0". Derek Queen placed 5th in the 400 meters at 57.62.
