St. Francis Invitational Incomplete Due to Weather
The St. Francis Invitational Track and Field Meet was cut short on Tuesday, April 26th, due to threatening weather. A thunderstorm moved into the area and the meet was called due to the rain and lightning danger. The meet will not be completed due to the difficulty of finding a possible date.
Only the field events and the preliminaries in the hurdles, 100 meters, and 200 meters had been completed by the time the meet was canceled. The mens pole vault was not completed when the meet was called. St. Francis athletes placing in the completed events are listed below.
In the girls division, two Lady Indians scored in the field events. Kaitlin Figgins placed 2nd in the discus with a toss of 94' 8" and 5th in the shot put with a throw of 34' 2 1/2". Sarah Trembly earned 3rd in the discus at 92' 11" and 6th in the javelin with a heave of 90' 8".
The Indians earned five scoring positions in the completed events. Garrett Figgins placed 3rd in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 16.85. Dylan Wolaver was 5th in the hurdles at 17.81. Isaac Schiltz won first place in the high jump clearing 6' 0" while Casey Keller placed 5th at 5' 6". Adam Guthmiller placed 2nd in the mens discus with a throw of 133' 5".
