St. Francis Teams Place 8th
The St. Francis High School track teams participated in the Oberlin Invitational Track and Field Meet on Tuesday, May 3rd. Both the boys and girls teams placed eighth in the nine team meet.
Phillipsburg won the boys division with 110 points. Norton Community took second with 88 points. St. Francis placed 8th scoring 39 points. Smith Center won the girls division scoring 129 points. Phillipsburg earned a second place finish in the girls team scoring with 90. The Lady Indians scored 14 team points to finish 8th.
In the boys division, Garrett Figgins placed 2nd in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 15.86. Dylan Wolaver placed 6th in the hurdles at 19.37. Figgins also earned a second place finish in the 330 meter hurdles with a 42.31 clocking. Wolaver placed 5th in the same event running 44.03.
In the field events, Adam Guthmiller placed 6th in the discus with a throw of 120' 2". Isaac Schiltz won the high jump with a height of 6' 0". Isaac also placed 5th in the pole vault clearing 11' 6"and placed 3rd in the triple jump with a distance of 37' 5".
The Indians 4 X 100 meter relay team of Wolaver, Figgins, Logan Lampe, and Derek Queen placed 6th with at time of 47.40.
In the girls division, Aly Schlepp earned a third place finish in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:37.12. Kaitlin Figgins placed 5th in the shot put throwing 33' 5 1/4". Sarah Trembly earned a 4th place finish in the discus with a toss of 96' 4" and a 5th place finish in the javelin throwing 101' 10".
