Junior High Football Team Defeats Rawlins County

The St. Francis Indian junior high football team defeated Rawlins County on Greene Field on September 8, 2011. The Indians played well and had command of the game throughout the contest.

Clay Cassaw scored the first Indian touchdown on a 13 yard scamper with 3:08 left in the 1st period. Justin Pacheco ran for the conversion points. St. Francis led 8-0.

With 7:08 left in the 2nd period, Cassaw scored again on a 62 yard punt return. The conversion attempt failed. The Indians let 14-0.

A short time later, Quinton Cravens intercepted a Buffalo pass to set up the next Indian score. Travis Rogers scored on a 57 yard run with 6:15 remaining in the second period. The conversion attempt failed. St. Francis led 20-0. With 3:27 left in the half, Clay Cassaw scored his third touchdown of the game on a 46 yard run. The conversion attempt was no good. St. Francis held a 26-0 halftime lead.

Lane Hobrock returned the opening kickoff of the second half all the way to paydirt to push the Indian lead to 32-0. The Indians defeated the Buffaloes, 32-6.

The junior high football team will play Oakley in Oakley on Thursday, September 15th. Kickoff is set for 5:00 PM.
