Homecoming Week Is Here
Homecoming Candidates Named
This week is homecoming week! Each day special activities were planned.
Monday was "Patriotic Day." Students wore red, white, and blue in honor of 9/11. The JV football team played Norton at 5:30 PM. On Monday evening, the seniors "painted the streets".
Tuesday was "Volleyball Appreciation Day." The high school volleyball teams competed with Wallace County and Rawlins County on Tuesday. Students dressed up and expressed their appreciation for the volleyball team.
Wednesday was "Fashion Disaster Day/Men at Work Day." Students arrived in "unusual" attire for school on Wednesday. The homecoming bonfire was held Wednesday evening. The Booster Club hosted a hamburger/hotdog feed before the bonfire and the First National Bank hosted an ice cream social after the bonfire was over.
Thursday was "T-Shirt Signing Day/Flotation Device Day." Students enjoyed signing each other's T-shirts throughout the school day. Several brought their favorite flotation device as part of their day's attire.
Friday is "Green and Gold Day/ Our Lips Are Sealed Day" Everyone should dress in the their team colors. The senior football and volleyball players will eat lunch at the grade school with the elementary students.
Friday afternoon the Homecoming Pep Rally will be held in the high school gymnasium at 2:30 PM. The homecoming king and queen will be crowned at the pep rally. The public is invited to attend.
Female homecoming candidates for 2011 are: Kaitlin Figgins, Lexi Hilt, Jacquelyn Ketzner, Caitlin Northrup, Trista Orth, and Christina Schoenrogge. Male candidates are: Jon Butler, Gavin Cooper, Sam Reed, Logan Whitmore, Brock Zweygardt, and Ty Zweygardt.
The SFCHS Pom Squad will host a soup supper from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Friday evening. Both chili and cheesy potato soup will be served along with cinnamon rolls.
On Friday evening, the Holyoke Dragons will be in town for the homecoming football game. Kickoff is scheduled for 8:00 PM.
The homecoming dance will be held on Saturday evening from 8:30 PM to 11:30 PM.
