Junior High Girls Lose at Rawlins County

The junior high girls basketball team traveled to Atwood on Thursday, January 26th, to compete with the Rawlins County teams.  Rawlins County won both of the games played.

In the A-team game, Rawlins County led 2-6 after one period and were ahead 11-15 at the half. Rawlins County took control in the second half earning a 16-23 lead after three periods and went on to win the game by a score of 20-35.

Scoring in the A-team game were McKenzie Taylor 6, Kylie Sherlock 4, Alexis Frink 4, CarolEve Harris 2, Emily Elfers 2, and Sydney Sundstrom 2.  The team was 1 of 10 from the free throw line.

The B-team contest was a closer contest. The teams were tied 6-6 after one period. The Lady Indians fell behind in the second period and trailed at halftime 8-14.  The second quarter spelled the difference in the contest as the two teams played evenly in the second half.  Rawlins County led 10-18 after three periods and won the contest by a score of 14-20.

Alexis Frink scored 10 points for the Lady Indians.  Jenna Confer and CarolEve Harris each added 2.  The team was 0 of 2 from the line.

The girls will play Hoxie in St. Francis on Thursday, February 2nd.
