Star Lab Planned For Friday Evening

Because of weather conditions, the Star Lab program has been moved to Monday evening, February 6th.

St. Francis Elementary School is planning Star Lab for Friday night, February 3.  The Star Lab will be set up in the Grade School Gymnasium.  Many different groups and individuals will be helping out throughout the evening.  The Star Lab will be open from 6 to 8 PM.

Charlene Fiedler will be guiding groups though the Star Lab.  Only 20-25 participants (depending on size) can be in the Star Lab at a time, so a sign-up sheet will be available and you are encouraged to sign-up when you arrive at the sign-up table in the front hallway.

Students are encouraged to work on arts and crafts while waiting for their turn in the Star Lab.

Mrs. Beikman's art students will be doing arts and crafts stations.
Below are some of the things they will be able to make:

                    1.  Testellations
                    2.  Playdough Aliens
                    3.  Chocolate Fountain Astronauts (TO EAT)
                    4.  Moon rock coloring

The students have also put together a Moon walk (cake walk) where baked items will be the prizes.

There will also be some outdoor star-gazing.  Mr. Swihart, Mr. Olofson, Mrs. O’Brien and older students will be helping the kids with the telescopes.

The Freshman class will be serving a sloppy joe plate for supper.  Cost is $5.  Come and support them!!

So come and sign up and while you wait, do some crafts, check out the stars and planets, and eat supper.
