Education:
I earned a B.A. in Secondary Education with an emphasis in English from Northwest University in Kirkland, WA, in 2000. I went on to earn an M.A. in Secondary Education from Grand Canyon University in 2008.
Experience:
My first teaching position was a mid-year assignment at an exclusive private school in Redmond, WA. There, I taught seventh and eighth grade Language Arts for the remainder of the half-year and two additional years. From there, I moved back to Colorado and took a position at Sagewood Middle School where I taught eighth grade Language Arts for eleven years. I now teach high school English and Speech/Drama right here at SFCHS. Recently, I took the test to teach Speech.
Current Responsibilities:
I currently teach 10th, 11th, and 12th grade English, Speech/Drama, and a Creative Writing class that I added in 2016. I also serve the school as the Scholars' Bowl coach. In addition, the 12th grade Advanced Composition class and the Speech class I teach are offered as dual credit classes through Northwest Technical College.
