HS Track Teams Compete at Hoxie

On Friday, April 11th, the St. Francis HIgh School Track teams were in action at the Hoxie Invitational Track and Field Meet. Eight teams competed in the meet including: Cheylin, Hill City, Hoxie, Natoma, Quinter, St. Francis, Stockton, and Wheatland-Grinnell.
Hoxie won the team title in the boys division by scoring 140 points to easily out-pace the rest of the field. Natoma placed second with 99 points; St. Francis was third with 79. Other team scores and placings were: 4th - Stockton 62; 5th - Hill City 39; 6th (tie) - Wheatland-Grinnell 37; 6th (tie) - Quinter 37; and 8th - Cheylin 34.
In the girls division, Wheatland-Grinnell placed first with 135 team points. Hill City placed 2nd with 90. Other girls teams scores and placings were: 3rd - Quinter 71; 4th - Hoxie 61; 5th - Natoma 59; 6th - Cheylin 48; 7th - St. Francis 30; 8th - Stockton 27.
St. Francis athletes winning individual events were: Jude Faulkender - Shot Put; Lenny Olivares - Discus; Cade Bracelin - Javelin; and Valerie Wurm - 100 meter dash.
