Junior High Boys Win Quinter Invitational

Jordan Raby Sets New School Record

Tayton - Pole Vault

The junior high boys track team won the thirteen team Quinter Invitational Track and Field Meet on Friday, May 2nd. The Indians scored 109 team points to easily out-distance all other teams. The junior high girls placed 6th in the girls team standings with 42 team points.

The St. Francis track athletes competed very well during the meet winning five events. Jordan Raby set a new St. Francis 7th grade school record by running 57.42 in the 400 meters, lowering his own record of 59.09 set earlier this year.

Dalton - High Jump

Final team standings in the boys division were:  1st - St. Francis 109; 2nd - Oakley 77.5; 3rd - Dighton 70; 4th - Northern Valley 53, 5th - Wheatland 50, 6th - Hoxie 46; 7th - Brewster 35.5, 8th - Golden Plains 23, 9th - Healy 14, 10th - Western Plains 10, 11th (tie) - Quinter 4, 11th (tie) -Triplains 4, 12th - Heartland Christian 0.

St. Francis Indians placing in the Quinter Invitational were:

Kenny Adams:  6th in shot put (31' 5.25")

Trayton Doyle:  1st in shot put (39' 3.75"), 6th in discus (100' 5"), 6th in 200 meters (28.43)

Jake Faulkender: 3rd in 800 meters (2:34.14), 4th in pole vault (7' 6')

Luke Lampe:  2nd in 100 meters (26.84), 3rd in 100 meters (12.88), 3rd in long jump (16' 2")

Luin Norris:  2nd in discus (102' 7'), 4th in 100 meter hurdles (19.25)

Tiernan Poling:  5th in triple jump (30' 0")

Jordan Raby:  1st in 100 meters (12.38), 1st in 400 meters (57.42)

Mason Schmid:  2nd in pole vault (8' 0)

Dalton Straub:  2nd in long jump (16' 6.5"), 5th (tie) in high jump (4' 10")

Tayton Weeter:  3rd in pole vault (8' 0")

4 X 100 meter relay:  1st (51.96) Luke Lampe, Jordan Raby, Dalton Straub, and Cody Baxter

4 X 200 meter relay:  3rd (1:57.02) Alex Queen, Seth Mosee, Hunter Helton, and Trayton Doyle

Zoe & Lauren - 4 X 1

Northern Valley ran away with the girls team championship scoring 147 team points. Quinter placed a distant second with 69 points. The remainder of the girls team placings were:  3rd - Golden Plains 56, 4th - Wheatland 47, 5th - Hoxie 43, 6th - St. Francis 42, 7th - Healy 26, 8th - Oakley 18, 9th - Dighton 14, 10th - Triplains 13, 11th - Brewster 7, 12th - Western Plains 3, and 13th - Heartland Christian 1.

St. Francis Lady Indians placing in the Quinter Invitational were: 

Jessica Confer:  4th in discus (74' 2")

Zoe Sundstrom:  2nd in 100 meter hurdles (17.66)

Madi Tice:  2nd in 400 meters (1:07.53), 5th in 100 meters (14.32)

4 X 100 meter relay:  1st (58.15) Zoe Sundstrom, Emileigh Dinkel, Joslyn Ketzner, and Madi Tice

4 X 200 meter relay:  3rd (2:06.61) Lindsey Johnson, Jylian Laten, Zoe Sundstom, and Matthisen Witzel

4 X 400 meter relay:  4th (4:53.67) Zoe Sundstrom, Jylian Laten, Joslyn Ketzner, and Madi Tice

The junior high track teams will compete in a 5-team meet in St. Francis, on Thursday, May 8th.
