Dallas Reed Wins State Pole Vault Gold

SFCHS Athletes Medal in 5 Events

Girls 4 X 100

The St. Francis High School track teams made a good showing in the Kansas State High School Track and Field Championships in Wichita on May 30 and 31. The Indian boys scored 12 points to place 18th.  The Lady Indians placed 22nd with 10 team points. Two SFCHS track teams placed in the state meet and three athletes medaled in individual events.

The girls 4 X 100 meter relay consisting of McKayla Taylor, Emily Elfers, Valerie Wurm, and McKenzie Taylor placed 9th in the preliminaries and did not qualify for the finals. The relay team ran 52.96.

Logan Lampe ran the 200 meters in 23.55 in his preliminary heat. The time was the 10th fastest time in the prelims, so Logan did not qualify for the 200 meter finals.

Dallas - Pole Vault

Junior Dallas Reed won the girls pole vault with a vault of 10' 0". The vault was good enough to also erase the existing St. Francis High School girls school record of 9" 6" set earlier this season by Reed and by Lauren Ross in 2007.  Journey Lee placed 14th with a vault of 7' 0".

Valerie Wurm competed in the 100 meter dash. Val ran 13.56 in her preliminary heat and did not qualify for the 100 meter finals.

Derek Queen placed 10th in the mens 100 meter dash preliminaries and did not qualify for the finals.  Derek's time was 11.93.

Mason - Pole Vault

Mason Schiltz earned a 4th place finish in the pole vault. Mason cleared 13' 0".

The boys 4 X 100 meter relay team consisting of Logan Lampe, Derek Queen, Taylor Rogers, and Cade Bracelin clocked a 45.81 mark in the preliminaries and qualified for the finals. The team placed 8th in the finals with time of 45.66.

Derek Queen turned in a 400 meter time of 52.43 in preliminary action to qualify for the finals in the event. In the finals, Derek ran 52.58 to place 7th.

The boys 4 X 400 meter relay team (Logan Lampe, Derek Queen, Taylor Rogers, and Lane Hobrock) turned in a qualifying time of 3:32.70 to place 3rd in preliminary action and qualify for the finals. In the finals, the team clocked 3:33.45, to place 5th.
