Football Stadium Receives Upgrades

In preparation for the 2014 football season, Greene Field is receiving some upgrades.  The field has been resized, new lighting is being installed, and a new scoreboard will soon be in place.

The 2014 season will be the first season St. Francis will compete as an eight-man team. To prepare for eight-man football, Greene Field has been re-sized. The old field, 100 yards by 50 yards, has been reduced to eight-man dimensions, 80 yards by 40 yards. The goal posts have been moved as part of the change.

Commercial Sign Company of Colby, Kansas, has installed new lighting. The lights should be much brighter than the old lights and much more energy efficient. A new scoreboard will be placed on the northeast corner of the the field and should be in place by the third week of the season. The new lighting and scoreboard equipment has been donated by Stanion Electric of Pratt, Kansas. Stanion Electric is owned by St. Francis graduate Bill Keller, his wife Cindy, and family. The new scoreboard was donated by the Bill and Cindy Keller family in honor of Ed and Rachael Keller and the Keller Ranch.

Thank you, Stanion Electric, for helping to make the improvements possible.

Below are a few video clips of the lights being installed.
