Students Hold Balloon Release for "MIss Char"
The students and faculty of St. Francis Community Schools held a balloon release in memory of Charlene Fiedler on Friday, October 17, at the Elementary School. "Miss Char" as she was most commonly known, succumbed to cancer on October 13, 2014, after a long illness. She was 63 years old.
Miss Char began teaching art at St. Francis Elementary School in 1996. In 2004, Miss Char became the speech paraprofessional at the grade school, a position she held until her illness would no longer allow her to work. Miss Char had a special gift that allowed her to relate to students of all ages, and she touched the lives of many throughout her years of teaching in St. Francis.
