Indians Outrun the Wildcats

The junior high boys basketball team traveled to Sharon Springs on Monday, November 23, to play the Wallace County Wildcats. Only one game was played as Wallace County only had ten boys on their team. St. Francis easily defeated the Wildcats by a score of 44-11.

St. Francis jumped out to a 23-3 lead after one quarter of play. In the first period, St. Francis received two points from Shadryon Blanka and 21 from Brady Dinkel. Many of the points were earned on the fast-break as the Indians pushed the ball consistently up the floor. Wallace County's only basket was a trey.

The Indians extended their advantage to 35-3 by halftime. In the second period, Garin Cooper scored 4 points, Jesse Baxter 2, Adam Krien 2, and Brady Dinkel added four more to his total.

The Indians played mainly reserve players in the second half. The Indians extended the margin to 47-4 after three periods, and won the contest 49-11.

Brady Dinkel led all scorers with 25 points. Shadryon Blanka and Isaiah Lee each added 6 points. Others scoring in the contest were: Garin Cooper 4, Jesse Baxter 4, Adam Krien 2, and Colton Neitzel 2. C. Smith scored all 11 points for the Wildcats.
