ST. FRANCIS, KAN. -- The Saint Francis Junior High Lady Indians start their season at home with some well played games.

The C-Team Lady Indians won against Quinter in one set, 25-19. It may have been a rocky start at first, but when they loosened up, they looked like they played their hardest.

The A-Team Lady Indians also took a win from the Quinter Bulldogs scoring, 22-25; 25-13; 15-13.

The B-Team Lady Indians fought a hard fight, but sadly lost. The scores were 18-25; 15-25.

Junior High Saint Francis Lady Indians get control over a volley from Quinter.
ShayLinn Zweygardt, junior high head volleyball coach said “I wasn’t there for the B or C team because I was coaching high school junior varsity, but A-team started out slow, it was just nerves and having only three returners from last year. Once they settled down we were moving our feet better and communicating more efficiently. I am proud of all the girls tonight.”

It wasn’t just the positive attitude of the girls tonight that made watching the game so fun, it was also the crowd joining in and cheering them on.

“My favorite part about the game was the excitement,” said Amanda Neitzel, Saint Francis seventh grade volleyball player. “My favorite part was how intense it was,” said Mckenna Poling, seventh grade volleyball player. “Winning was my favorite part,” said Mia Morrow, seventh grade volleyball player.

“I think the team played pretty good,” said Poling. “We played good, but we need to talk more,” said Neitzel.

Both Neitzel and Poling said they wanted to work on their serving before the next game. Morrow said she is going to work on digging.

The next junior high volleyball game is Thursday, Sept. 8 at home against Tribune at 4:30 p.m.
