Digging for the ball, Lauren Johnson works hard to make it count.

The St. Francis Varsity Lady Indians lost to the Idalia Wolves in three sets Thursday, September 1 at St. Francis Community High School.

The Lady Indians fought a tough battle with the Wolves. Throughout the entire first set the Indians were neck and neck with the wolves. The Indians lost 22-25.

“We could of worked a lot harder than we did. We had a lack of communication and energy,” said Zoe Sundstrom, St. Francis junior.

In the second set, the Indians gave the Wolves a run for their money. They gave it their all, but lost 24-26.

“I thought we worked really hard even though we came up short. Idalia is a tough team, but we stood up to the challenge well,” said Jessica Confer, St. Francis sophomore.

The third set began with a lead of 0-5. The Lady Indians hustled, but the Wolves caught up with them tying the game at 14-14. Ultimately, the Wolves won with a final score of 20-25.

“Tonight definitely wasn’t our best game, but we we fought very hard. All three matches were really close in score,” said Lauren Johnson, St. Francis sophomore.
