Wyatt Hilt, Saint Francis sophomore, who also helped at the painting station, said that he most enjoyed the kids being happy while they painted.
On October 4, 2016, the Saint Francis Parent Teacher Organization, PTO, sponsored the annual Fall Festival held at the grade school. The event featured many different carnival activities including pumpkin painting, bean bag tic-tac-toe, cake walk, Gatorade toss, balloon bean bag toss, pumpkin ring toss, fireman's train, and many others. “My favorite game was the balloon bean bag toss because it reminded me of football,” said Colton Raile, Saint Francis fifth grader. Prizes were given away with the tokens earned from the games.
The Citizens for a New Pool Committee served several different kinds of chili. A free-will donation was taken to raise money to fund the future swimming pool.
Many junior and senior high school students volunteered to help run the games and activities. “My favorite part of the night was watching all the little kids get three-in-a-row at the bean bag tic-tac-toe game and seeing how excited they were,” said Mallery Mills, Saint Francis junior.
Wyatt Hilt, Saint Francis sophomore, said the thing he enjoyed the most was “seeing the kids being happy while they painted.”
Mason Schmidt, Saint Francis sophomore, said “The thing he most enjoyed was the chaos dying down.”
A total of $550 was raised at the Fall Festival. All of the proceeds will go to the grade school to fund future projects. “I thought this year was a better turnout compared to last year because we worked hard to promote it,” said PTO President Brooke Lohr.
