SAINT FRANCIS, KAN.-- On Thursday, October 6, the St. Francis Junior High Volleyball Lady Indians performed well but came up short against the Hoxie Indians.

To begin the night, the B-team Lady Indians gave the Hoxie Indians a run for their money, finishing the first set with a score of 18-25 and the second with a close score of 22-25. “Throughout the game we really tried hard to get the ball back over, but we didn’t communicate to each other very well,” said Ryan Zimbal, St. Francis sixth grader.

The Lady Indian A-team fought hard throughout their two matches, but lost to a good Hoxie team. The first set score was 15-25 and the second set ended with a score of 20-25. “I think we could have done a lot better tonight with our setting and serving. Overall we did well and I’m proud of my teammates,” said Kattie Wurm, St. Francis eighth grader.

The final match of the night ended with the C-team Lady Indians who played well, but also lost to the Hoxie Lady Indians in two sets: 13-25, 16-25.
