A Look Inside the Busy Life of Senior Katie Schmid
If you have a class with Katie Schmid, Saint Francis Community High School senior, you know she always has a smile on her face and makes classes more fun by just being there.
Saint Francis Freshmen Hannah Zimbal said Katie always has a good attitude and hits well when playing volleyball.
“My favorite sport is by far volleyball. I love being a part of the team and feeling the rush when we do something great,” said Schmid.
Schmid is a hard worker and always does her best, whether it’s volleyball games or practices, band, yearbook, and worship leader at church (Sundays and Wednesdays).
“Katie has a strong faith in God. It is inspiring to watch her grow in her faith, and not compromise herself in any way,” said Tina Schmid, Katie’s mom. “She always stands up for what she believes in. She is quick to stand up for what is right. We see that she has a big heart that desires others to do right and not compromise as well. She is a great inspiration and has a great future ahead of her. We are proud to be her parents.”
Schmid is planning on furthering her education at Colby Community College (CCC). “They have a great music program and it is affordable. Another reason for my plans to go to CCC is because it is close to home,” Schmid said. “I’m a hometown kind of girl, but that might change with my career of possibly being a motivational speaker/business woman. Things are still not set in stone. It may change.”
