Body Venture Comes to St. Francis Elementary
Body Venture is a unique educational program designed to involve students in learning the skills and choices for a healthy lifestyle. Children learn about the importance of good nutrition choices by walking through a 45 foot by 50 foot exhibit representing the human body. The exhibit was designed and created by the Kansas State Department of Education, Child Nutrition & Wellness.
On October 4, all elementary school students got to experience this fun event! They enjoyed going through the exhibit starting by becoming a food in the lunchroom. They then traveled through the brain, mouth, esophagus, stomach, small intestine, and then were absorbed into the blood. Then they followed the path of the nutrients to the heart, lung, bone, muscle, and skin stations. Students left the body through a cut in the skin. What a fun learning experience!
