Lady Indian Basketball Underway
November 14 marked the first day of high school winter sports practice as regulated by the Kansas High School Activities Association. On that day, the Lady Indians began two-a-day workouts in preparation for the 2016-17 basketball season. The Lady Indians will open competition on December 2 when they travel to Quinter. The Lady Indians will compete in the first round of the Sagebrush Classic Basketball Tournament in Brewster against Cheylin at 3:00 p.m. on December 5.
Fourteen girls have reported for high school basketball practice. The student-athletes include:
Juniors: Reagan Beims, Hanna Bracelin, Emileigh Dinkel, Jylian Laten, Mallory Mills, Zoe Sundstrom, and Madison Tice
Sophomores: Lauren Johnson and Lindsey Johnson
Freshmen: Karly Bandel, Alondra Gomez, Jayden McGinnis, Taighe Weeter, and Hanna Zimbal
Matthisen Witzel and Cassidy Busse will serve as team managers.
The team is coached by Shaylinn Zweygardt and Matt Bandel.
