Varsity Lady Indians Defeat Rawlins County

Hanna Bracelin, Saint Francis sophomore, drives the ball through the Atwood defense to look for someone to pass the ball to or to score. Bracelin scored 19 points in the varsity girls game against the Atwood Buffaloes.The Saint Francis varsity girls defeated the Rawlins County Buffaloes, 39-36 on Tuesday, January 24.
The Saint Francis Lady Indians had a bit of a slow start but once they got going they didn’t stop. They were behind for three of the four quarters. The Indians got in the lead in the fourth quarter.
Taighe Weeter, Saint Francis freshmen, said “I felt like the first quarter we struggled, but once we put that past us in the second we played really well as a team.”
The game got both Rawlins County and Sainty Indian fans pumped.
Alondra Gomez, Saint Francis freshmen, said “I think the other team pushed us to fight harder, in second half. But I also think the bench and the crowd helped a lot.”
At one point the Lady Indians were down by 13 points.
Hanna Bracelin, Saint Francis junior, scored a total of 19 of the team’s 39 points.
Karly Bandel, Saint Francis freshmen, said “My favorite part was that we fought hard and came back and won. All our hard work paid off and it was a great feeling to win a class game.”
