Saint Francis Senior Taylor Rogers plans to finish out his last year of high school with a bang. Rogers’ goals for this year are to go to state in football, basketball, and track; as well as to, of course, graduate. Rogers’ favorite memory of his senior year so far has been homecoming week. “I thought homecoming week was really great since it got everyone involved,” he said. Rogers was also crowned Homecoming King which topped off his football performance.

After Rogers graduates high school, he plans to go to Fort Hays State University to major in business and finance. Someday Rogers sees himself becoming a farmer or a financial adviser.

“I’m really excited to make more memories for my last year of high school,” said Rogers.

Rogers loves riding his dirt bike on his track near his house, and sometimes he said he loads his dirt bike up and goes to tracks in the area. Rogers’ family also loves to spend time at the lake. He also helps on his family's farm: checking irrigation wells, driving the tractor, and checking cows.

Cory Busse, Rogers’ head basketball coach, described Rogers as a hard-working, fun, and competitive teammate. “He is someone any coach would love on his team, no matter the sport,” said Busse. “He is a great kid and a senior we will hate to lose.”

Tate Busse, Rogers’ best friend, said, “It was always fun when Taylor would come over after school.” Rogers has always been a great friend to Tate as well as a teammate. Both Rogers and Busse competed together in football, basketball, and went to state in the 4x400 meter relay last year in track.

“I’m very excited to see where life takes me,” said Rogers. “Only time will tell.”
