An insider’s look on Senior Taryn Zweygardt
“Senior year is fun. It’s also really busy,” said Taryn Zweygardt, Saint Francis senior. He has a densely packed school year. When he gets free time, however, he likes to play games, read, and binge watch Netflix. He is a huge gamer, who loves science fiction and horror books.
“He is a fine and kind young man. Taryn is very talented and loves music. It’s not everyday you see someone get out and sing in front of all those people,” said David Morrow, Saint Francis principal.
Zweygardt said he is undecided where he would like to go to college, yet, but he is looking toward either computer science or biochemistry as a career path. Chemistry and biology have been his favorite classes. In 20 years, he sees himself studying new crops, studying the functions of the ecosystems, or studying new strands of hemp.
Zweygardt’s favorite color is black and red. His favorite season is winter because it has cooler weather, warm fires, and he loves the beauty of nature during winter. His favorite holidays are Halloween, where he can be whatever he wants, and the Fourth of July. He loves the explosions of fireworks.
Maryse Schafer, Wray senior, said Zweygardt was the first person she befriended when she moved to Saint Francis. “I met him at school and he helped me out when I first moved to Saint Francis. He was there for me when I didn’t have any friends. He is a huge nerd and tends to be overly sensitive, but he is a great person and he cares a lot about his friends and family,” said Schafer.
His advice to younger kids is to “keep moving forward, be sure to take a step back, take a deep breath, and enjoy the ride.”
