Junior High Boys Win Atwood Invitational

Girls Place Third

The junior high boys amassed 134 team points to run away with the team championship of the Rawlins County Invitational Track and Field Meet on Tuesday, April 11. The junior high girls scored 85 team points to place third in the girls division. Eight teams competed in the meet.

St. Francis athletes placing first were:  Adam Krien, 100m, 200m, and 400m; Garin Cooper, long jump and triple jump; Shadryon Blanka, pole vault; and the boys 4 X 100m relay and the 4 X 200m relay. Individual first-place winners in the girls division were:  McKenna Poling 100, 200, and 400; and the 4 X 200m relay team.

Boys Division

St. Francis won the boys team championship with 134 team points. Hoxie placed second with 82 and Decatur Community third with 75. The remainder of the boys teams finished in the following order:  4th - Wallace County 60, 5th - Quinter 47, 6th - Rawlins County 44, 7th - Golden Plains 43, and 8th - Cheylin 41.

Indians placing in the Rawlins County Invitational are listed below.

Jesse Baxter - 2nd in discus (130' 3"), 3rd in shot put (35' 3"),

Shadryon Blanka - 1st in pole vault (10'0"), 3rd in 200m hurdles (32.83)  Below is a video of Shadryon running the 200m hurdles.

Ben Busse - 4th in 1600 (5:58.03)

Garin Cooper - 1st in long jump (17' 2"), 1st in triple jump (36' 4.5"), 5th in high jump (4' 6")

Adam Krien - 1st in 100 (12.42), 1st in 200 (25.75), 1st in 400 (56.22)Eli Mills - 5th in pole vault (6' 0")  Below is a video of Adam and Tyson in the 100m dash.

Colton Neitzel - 5th in discus (98' 11"), 6th in shot put (33' 1.5")

Tyson Poling - 2nd in high jump (5' 0"), 3rd in 100 (12.95)

Kobe Tice - 2nd in pole vault (9' 6"), 

4 X 100 meter relay - 1st (50.05) Garin Cooper, Adam Krien, Shadryon Blanka, and Tyson Poling

4 X 200 meter relay - 1st (1:53.42) Jesse Baxter, Shadryon Blanka, Colton Neitzel, and Kobe Tice

4 X 400 meter relay - 6th (5:04.71) Shannon Rethke, Eli Mills, Vladimir Chinik, and Preston Witzel

Girls Division 

Wallace County won the girls division scoring 105 team points. Hoxie was a close second with 104.33. St. Francis placed third with 85 team points. The other teams finished in the following order:  4th - Rawlins County 78.33, 5th - Golden Plains 54, 6th - Decatur Community 44, 7th - Quinter 36, 8th - Cheylin 16.33.

St. Francis girls placing in the meet are listed below.

Hadleigh Hilt - 6th in `100 (14.75)

Amy Jenkins - 3rd in 800 (3:03.48), 6th in 1600 (6:40.39)

Ellee Krien - 4th in 200 (32.24)

Lyden Lampe - 2nd in 1600 (6:16.37)

Mia Morrow - 3rd in pole vault (6' 0"), 4th in 100 meter hurdles (20.16), 4th in triple jump (27' 7.75")

Mireya Palasio-Rocha - 5th in 3200 (18:53.20)

McKenna Poling - 1st in 100 (14.20), 1st in 200 (29.71), 1st in 400 (1:06.69)  Below is a video of McKenna winning the 100m dash.

Hailey Robbins - 4th (tie) in pole vault (4' 6")

Talexa Weeter - 3rd in 800 (3:02.88), 4th (tie) in pole vault (4' 6")

4 X 200 meter relay - 1st (2:13.61) Lyden Lampe, Miah Hackney, Hadleigh Hilt, and Bailey Workman

2 X 400 meter relay - 5th (5:02.07) Amy Jenkins, Lyden Lampe, Ellee Krien, and Rian Zimbal

The junior high track teams will compete in the St. Francis Invitational on Tuesday, April 18, on Greene Field in St. Francis.
