Indians Win RC Quad; Two New Records Set

Lady Indians Place Second

The Rawlins County Quad Track Meet was held on Thursday, April 20, under beautiful weather conditions. The Indians earned a first place team finish scoring 105.5 team points to best second-place finisher Quinter with 62.5. The Lady Indians placed second in the girls division behind Rawlins County with 74 points. During the meet, Garin Cooper set a new school record in the triple jump with a lead of 37' 3.5", bettering the mark he set two days earlier in the St. Francis Invitational. Mia Morrow also set a new 7th grade girls record in the triple jump with a leap of 27' 10". The mark erased the old record of 27' 9.5" set by Megan Rice in 2002.

St. Francis boy athletes placing first in an event included:  Garin Cooper, long jump and triple jump; Adam Krien, 100m and 200m; Ben Busse, 800m; Jesse Baxter, discus; Tyson Poling, high jump; Shadryon Blanka, pole vault; and all three relay teams--4 X 100m, 4 X 200m, and 4 X 400m. Lady Indians placing first were:  McKenna Poling, 100m, 200m, and 400m; Amy Jenkins 800m; the 4 X100m relay, and 4 X 200m relay.

Boys Division

St. Francis placed first with 105.5 team points. Quinter earned second place with 62.5. Rawlins County was third with 51, and Dighton 4th with 35.

Individual place winners for St. Francis are below.

Jesse Baxter - 1st in discus (121' 6"), 2nd in shot put (36' 7"), 3rd in 200 meters (29.22)

Shadryon Blanka - 1st in pole vault (9' 6'), 2nd in the 200 meter hurdles (31.65)

Ben Busse - 1st in 800 meters (2:44.02)

Garin Cooper - 1st in long jump (17' 4.5"), 1st in triple jump (37' 3.5") NEW SCHOOL RECORD!

Seth Grice - 3rd in triple jump (26' 9"), 5th in 100 meters (13.94), 5th in 200 meter hurdles (34.96)

Adam Krien - 1st in 100 meters (12.31), 1st in 200 meters (26.15),

Colton Neitzel - 3rd in discus (94' 3"), 3rd in high jump (4' 6')

Tyson Poling - 1st in high jump (4' 8"), 2nd in 100 meters (12.96), 2nd in 200 meters (26.58),

Brady Schoenrogge - 5th in 800 meters (5:52.65)

Kobe Tice - 2nd in pole vault (8' 6')

Preston Witzel - 5th in 400 meters (1:18.05)

4 X 100 meter relay - 1st (50.76) Garin Cooper, Shadryon Blanka, Tyson Poling, and Adam Krien

4 X 200 meter relay - 1st (1:58.96) Kobe Tice, Seth Grice, Colton Neitzel, and Jesse Baxter

4 X 400 meter relay - 1st (4:12.43) Garin Cooper, Kobe Tice, Shadryon Blanka, and Adam Krien

Girls Division

Rawlins County won the girls division scoring 97 team points. St. Francis placed second with 74. Quinter earned third with 57 team points while Dighton was fourth with 29.

Jordyn Faulkender - 5th in shot put (24' 6"), 5th in discus (53' 7")

Miah Hackney - 5th in 200 meters (33.00)

Amy Jenkins - 1st in 800 meters (2:50.65), 2nd in 1600 meters (6:26.34)

Lydia Jenkins - 5th in 1600 meters (7:11.58)

Ellee Krien - 4th in 200 meters (32.37)

Lyden Lampe - 3rd in 1600 meters (7:11.56)

Mia Morrow - 2nd in triple jump (27' 10") NEW SCHOOL RECORD!, 2nd in 100 meter hurdles (20.05), 5th in pole vault (4' 6")

Mireya Palasio-Rocha - 5th in high jump (3' 10")

McKenna Poling - 1st in 100 meters (14.30),1st in 200 meters (30.09), 1st in 400 meters (1:07.41)

Talexa Weeter - 4th in 800 meters (3:08.62), 4th in pole vault (5' 6")

Rian Zimbal - 3rd in 100 meters (14.90), 5th in 200 meter hurdles (39.75)

4 x 100 meter relay - 1st (59.44) Hadleigh Hilt, Mia Morrow, Ellee Krien, and McKenna Poling

4 X 200 meter relay - 1st (2:11.62) Hadleigh Hilt, Bailey Workman, Miah Hackney, and Lyden Lampe

4 X 400 meter relay - 2nd (5:04.34) Amy Jenkins, Ellee Krien, Jesslynn Houtman, and Lyden Lampe

The teams will be in action in Hoxie Quad on Thursday, April 27, and on Friday, April 28, at the Quinter Invitational.
