Indians Win NWKL Track Title

The Northwest Kansas League Track Meet was held on Friday, May 13, in Tribune, Kansas. It was a good day for competition, and the track teams performed well at the meet. The Indian boys blitzed the competition scoring 211 team points to run away with the team championship. The Lady Indians also had some very good performances and placed 6th in the team standings with 48 points.

St. Francis athletes winning individual event championships at the meet were:  for the boys:  Jordan Raby - 100m dash, 400m dash; Cody Baxter - 110m hurdles, 300m hurdles; Taylor Rogers - 200m dash; Jake Faulkender - 3200m run; Dalton Straub - long jump; Tate Busse - high jump; and all three relay teams; for the girls:  4 X 400 meter relay team.

Girls Division

Wallace County won the girls division scoring 107 team points. Decatur Community placed second with 98. The remainder of the girls results were as follows:  3rd - Rawlins County 91, 4th - Dighon 81, 5th - Quinter 55, 6th - St. Francis 48, 7th - Greeley County 44, and 8th - Hoxie 32.

Emileigh Dinkel - 6th in 300 meter hurdles (36.13)

Alondra Gomez - 4th in pole vault (6' 6")

Lauren Johnson - 4th in 200 meters (29.99)

Lindsey Johnson - 4th in 100 meters (14.23)

Jylian Laten - 5th in long jump (14' 5.25")

Mallery Mills - 5th in high jump (4' 2"), 6th in 200 meters (30.67)

Taighe Weeter - 2nd in 800 meters (2:40.70)

4 X 100 meter relay - 2nd (54.98) - Madison Tice, Hannah Zimbal, Jylian Laten, and Lindsey Johnson

4 X 400 meter relay - 1st (4:31.37) - Hannah Zimbal, Madison Tice, Reagan Beims, and Lauren Johnson

4 X 800 meter relay - 4th (11:35.44) - Hannah Zimbal, Reagan Beims, Cassidy Busse, and Taighe Weeter

Boys Division

St. Francis won the boys team championship with 211 team points. Wallace County placed second with 79. The rest of the boys team placed in the following order:  3rd - Dighton 71, 4th - Rawlins County 65, 5th - Greeley County 45, 6th - Hoxie 34, 7th - Decatur Community 27, and 8th - Quinter 17.

Cody Baxter - 1st in 110 meter hurdles (17.62), 1st in 300 meter hurdles (42.90), 3rd in long jump (18' 1.75")

Tate Busse - 1st in high jump (6' 0")

Brady Dinkel - 3rd in triple jump (36' 5.75")

Trayton Doyle - 3rd in shot put (40' 4.5"), 4th in discus (110' 1")

Jake Faulkender - 1st in 3200 meters (11:33.42)

Wyatt Hackler - 2nd in 100 meters (11.81)

Kouper McQuigg - 3rd in 1600 meters (5:21.89), 4th in 3200 meters (12:12.50)

Luin Norris - 2nd in discus (135' 10"), 3rd in 110 meter hurdles (20.42), 5th in shot put (37' 11.5")

Tiernan Poling - 3rd in pole vault (10' 0"), 4th in triple jump (35' 11")

Bryce Raby - 5th in 1600 meters (5:31.54)

Jordan Raby - 1st in 100 meters (11.69), 1st in 400 meters (53.30), 

Taylor Rogers - 1st in 200 meters (23.60), 3rd in 100 meters (11.87)

Dalton Straub - 1st in long jump (19' 11.25"), 3rd in 200 meters (24.85), 5th in javelin (135' 4')

Blake Utsler - 4th in 110 meter hurdles (22.24)

Brock Waters - 2nd in triple jump (37' 6.25")

Tayton Weeter - 2nd in pole vault (12' 0")

4 X 100 meter relay - 1st (44.31) - Wyatt Hackler, Jordan Raby, Tate Busse, and Taylor Rogers

4 X 400 meter relay - 1st (3:35. 03) - Jordan Raby, Wyatt Hackler, Cody Baxter and Taylor Rogers

4 X 800 meter relay - 1st (8:43.39) - K.C. Krien, Brady Dinkel, Brock Waters, and Tate Busse

The track teams will be competing in the Regional Track and Field Meet on the campus of Fort Hays State University in Hays on Friday, May 19th.
