Little Indian Pride Day

"Little Indian Pride Day" took place on Wednesday, May 17.  The students at St. Francis Elementary worked hard all day to contribute in many different capacities to clean and organize the building, while instilling a sense of pride throughout.  The projects that the students worked on included cleaning the computer lab, scrubbing hallway walls, weeding the landscaping, planting new plants, painting recess equipment, scrubbing chairs & tables, and cleaning windows.

Community engagement projects have many added benefits ranging from academic outcomes to social outcomes.  Listed are some of the benefits of doing such projects:
*Improved students' ability to apply what they have learned in the "real world"
*Greater interpersonal development, particularly the ability to work well with others, and build leadership and communication skills
*Improved social responsibility and citizenship skills

A sense of pride was definitely evident as the students completed their projects!‚Äč
