Junior High Football Has Small Roster
Launch the media gallery 1 playerOnly nine athletes reported for junior high football practice for the 2017-2018 season. With 6th graders prohibited from contact sports by the Kansas State Department of Education and a small number of boys in grades 7 and 8, the number of available players is smaller this year. Coaches Nick O'Loughlin and Steve Kirkham will provided guidance for the young men. Managers (6th graders) Colton Raile, Dawson Rose, and Jordan Smull will provide support.
Players making up the junior high football team include the following players:
Eighth Grade: Vladimir Chinik, Alvaro Fernandez, Elijah Mills, Cutter Neitzel, Shannon Rethke, and Caleb Todd,
Seventh Grade: Ben Busse, Garrett Helton, and Preston Witzel
The team plans to play 6-man contests against the regularly scheduled teams. The Indians will play their first contest on Thursday, August 31, in Quinter at 4:30 p.m.
