Jake Performs Well In First Two Races

The cross country season is underway for St. Francis’ lone runner, Jake Faulkender. Faulkender's first race of the 2017 season was on a familiar course in Tribune on September 9th. There were 72 runners in the varsity boys race, and with a 19:19 clocking, Jake cruised to a 4th place finish.

Hugoton was the destination for the Jake's second competition, a Saturday race held on September 16. In this race, Faulkender faced competition from Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas in a field of 85 runners.  With the extra competition, Faulkender was pushed to a personal best time of 18:14 and finished 17th on a fast, flat course. Jake is coached by is mother, Amber Faulkender.

 

There are only five races left this season, and your next time to catch Faulkender in competition will be September 23rd in Syracuse.
