Kansas Communities That Care Survey

Attention Parents and Students in Grades 6, 8, 10, & 12

Kansas Communities That Care Survey

As part of the new Kansas Educational Systems Accreditation (KESA) system USD 297 is choosing to implement Social Emotional Learning curricula at all grade levels beginning with the 2018-2019 school year.  Part of the process involves screening our students for factors related to social emotional health.  A tool that is highly recommended as a screener is called the Kansas Communities That Care survey.  The data collected from this anonymous survey are used for various purposes throughout our state, and will be used by local staff to recognize  trouble areas and to determine how to most appropriately help our students.  More information can be found at this link:  http://kctcdata.org/

On December 13, 2017, 6th, 8th, 10th, and 12th grade students in St. Francis will participate in the online survey.  We ask that parents complete and return the required permission form on or before December 8.  Even if you do not want your student to participate in the survey, we ask that you return the form with the appropriate box checked with your signature and date.

The more students that participate in the survey, the more accurate our results will be.  We care about our students and want to provide for their needs as much as possible.

Permission forms and an Information for Parent document will be sent home with all students.  If your student(s) does not bring the forms home, click on the links below and print a copy for yourself.  Students will be directed where to turn in forms, or parents may drop them off at the high school office.

Sincerely,

Mr. Schiltz
