Drama Class Presents Double Feature
This year's SFCHS Drama Production offered a double feature! On December 11 and 12, the SFCHS Drama Class presented two one-act plays in the St. Francis High School Auditorium. The two plays were Trifles and '65 Mustang. Viewers seemed to enjoy the productions.
Trifles by Susan Glaspell is a murder mystery of sorts, but more of a social commentary play written in 1916. The setting was an abandoned farmhouse in rural America in the early 20th century. The play is an example of early feminist drama and highlights men's prejudice against women of the day. Cast members include: Coy De Waal, Dalton Straub, Luin Norris, Matthisen Witzel and Jessica Confer.
The second play, '65 Mustang by Burton Bumgarner, is a lighter look at life, told via the evolutions of a 1965 Mustang and the people who possess it over a forty year time span. The five-scene play takes snipets of life through the forty years of life of the automobile. The scenes are separated by ten-year spans of time. Cast members include: Matthisen Witzel, Luin Norris, Lauren Johnson, Teagan Landenberger, Zoe Sundstrom, Christina Stafford, Coy De Waal, Dalton Straub, Aaron White, Lindsey Johnson, Richard Johnson, Jordan Raby, and Shelby Wolff.
Serving as stage managers were Trayton Doyle, K.C. Krien, and Luke Lampe.
