Junior High Lady Indians dunked a victory on the Quinter Bulldogs at home
The A-Team junior high girls basketball team had an outstanding victory against the visiting Quinter Bulldogs at home Monday night. The Lady Indians dominated the Bulldogs with a score of 41-10.
Carl Werner, junior high athletics director, said the A-Team started out with a “slow start” leading at the end of the first quarter, 4-2. The A-Team started making more buckets in the second quarter and led 19-7 by halftime. In the third quarter, Werner said “the Indians held Quinter scoreless and closed the third quarter 30-7.” By the fourth quarter, the Indians “blew the game open,” Werner said and ended the game with an Indian victory 41-10.
Jesslynn Houtman, seventh grader said, “I thought that we played great and worked well together.”
Elle Krien, seventh grader, played A-Team for the Indians and said the team worked hard for the win.
The B-Team junior high Lady Indians followed suit with a victory of 38-12 against the Quinter Bulldogs Monday night. The Indians got an early lead, never looked back, and got a lot of rebounds to result in the Indian victory.
Karly Bandel, sophomore, said the B-Team got the win by making their shots. “They were on fire, making every shot they put up,” Bandel said.
Ellee Krien, seventh grader, said, “We worked hard, and that’s what it takes to win.”
Telexa Weeter, seventh grader, added, “When we play well together we can accomplish amazing things.”
