Track Teams Open at RCHS Invitational

The high school track teams opened competition on Thursday, April 5, at the Rawlins County Invitational in Atwood. Eight teams competed in the meet. The Indians placed 2nd in the team standings; the Lady Indians placed 8th. Several athletes did not participate in the meet due to a conflict with the Music Recital. St. Francis athletes winning events included Jordan Raby, Wyatt Hackler, Tate Busse, Trayton Doyle, Dalton Straub, Richard Johnson, the boys 4 X 100 relay, and the boys 4 X 400 relay. 

Boys Division

St. Francis placed 2nd in the boys division with 170 team points. Oakley narrowly won the meet scoring 172. Wallace County placed 3rd with 80 points. The remaining boys teams placed in the following order:  4th - Quinter 34, 5th - Decatur Community 27, 6th - Cheylin 23, 7th - Rawlins County 21, and 8th Hitchcock County 14.

Richard Johnson - 1st in pole vault (12' 0"), 3rd in triple jump (38' 2")

Adam Krien - 6th in 100 m (12.25)

K.C. Krien - 2nd in 800 m (2:10.57)

Tiernan Poling - 2nd in pole vault (11' 6"), 3rd in triple jump (41' 0.5")

Jordan Raby - 1st in 100 m (11.41)

Dalton Straub - 1st in javelin (160' 0"), 3rd in long jump (19' 1")

Keigan Taylor - 6th in 200 m (27.19)

Kobe Tice - 6th in pole vault (9' 6")

Aaron White - 5th in 3200 m (13:23.96)

Girls Division

Oakley won the girls division scoring 99.5 team points. Rawlins County placed second with 92 and Wallace County 3rd with 90. The rest of the field finished in the following order:  4th- Hitchcock County 81, 5th - Decatur Community 73.5, 6th - Quinter 45, 7th - Cheylin 38, and 8th St. Francis 35.

Emma Johnson - 4th in 800 m (2:50.24)

Lindsey Johnson - 5th in 100 m (14.15), 5th in 400 m (1:12.28)

Taighe Weeter - 2nd in 800 m (2:40.37), 3rd in triple jump (30' 6.75")

Kattie Wurm - 5th in 800 m (2:50.93)

4 X 100 relay - 4th (57.10) Lindsey Johnson, Madison Tice, Lauren Johnson, and Kattie Wurm

4 X 400 relay - 3rd (4:48.60) Joslyn Ketzner, Madison Tice, Kattie Wurn, and Lindsey Johnson

The track teams will compete in the Triplains Invitational on Tuesday, April 10th, in Colby.
