JV Indians Lose to DCS
The junior varsity football team played their first game of the season on Monday, September 17, in St. Francis. The JV Indians took on a good Dundy County-Stratton team losing the contest by a score of 22-38.
The first quarter ended with the score tied at 8-all. St. Francis earned their 1st-quarter touchdown on a three-yard run by Josiah Sims. Kobe Tice ran for the conversion points. Dundy County-Stratton (DCS) increased their lead to 20-8 in the second period.
In the third quarter, DCS scored twice more to increase their advantage. Mid-way through the period, St. Francis earned another touchdown on a 6-yard run by Kobe Tice. The conversion try was unsuccessful. St. Francis trailed 14-32 after three quarters of action.
The Tigers scored once more in the final period to move the scoreboard to 14-38, but the Indians kept working hard and earned another touchdown with just over a minute to play on an 8-yard run by Josiah Sims. Kobe Tice ran for the conversion points. St. Francis lost to DCS 22-38.
The junior varsity Indians will play Quinter, at Quinter, on Monday, September 24 at 5:00 p.m.
