JH Boys Lose In Hoxie
On November 6 in Hoxie, the junior high boys basketball teams both suffered losses to Hoxie. The A-team boys lost by a score of 20-43. The B-team lost to the home-standing Indians 8-18.
Hoxie jumped out to a 1-12 first quarter advantage and increased the margin throughout the contest. Hoxie received scoring from four different players in the first period while the Indians could only muster a free-throw by Ben Busse. The Indians fared better in the second period, earning 7 points on deuces from Busse and Preston Witzel, and a trey from Busse. The Indians trailed 8-23 at the half.
Preston Witzel scored all five of the Indians third quarter points. The margin grew to twenty points, 33-13, at the third quarter break. St. Francis lost to Hoxie 20-43.
