Indians 12th in Norton Invitational
The St. Francis Indian wrestling team traveled to Norton on Saturday, January 5, to compete in the Norton Invitational Wrestling Tournament. The Indians placed 12th as a team scoring 32 team points. The Indians had two individuals place in the tournament; Garin Cooper 4th at 120 and Tiernan Poling 2nd at 132.
Winning the team championship was Scott City. The Beavers totaled 176 team points to out-distance second-place Norton with 155. Cozad, Nebraska, scored 128 to place third. The remainder of the teams finished in the following order: 4th - Hoxie 108, 5th - Overland Park - Blue Valley 97.5, 6th - McCook 96, 7th - Beloit 91, 8th - Smith Center 78, 9th - Decatur Community 72, 10th - Oakley 50, 11th - Marion 43, 12th - St. Francis 32, 13th - Holcomb 29.5, 14th - Rawlins County 23, 15th - Brewster 18, and 16th - Hays - Thomas More Prep-Marion 5.
