Colton Neitzel, sophomore, dribbles the ball around to look for an open shot. The Indians fell to Atwood by two points in a close matchup.

The sound of feet rumbling on the stands fills the gymnasium and the crowd’s enthusiasm raises heart rates as the game on Friday is close to ending. The Indians fought a good fight against the Atwood Buffaloes on Friday night, but unfortunately did not end up on top. It was a disappointing defeat, but the boys played very well and learned a lot from the game.

“I learned that if you let up on a team, they will come back,” said Jesse Baxter, sophomore.

Although they lost, most boys on the team believed they still got better. Sometimes in order to succeed, you need to know what failure feels like and you need to know what you did wrong if you ever want to get better.

Drill team concludes their halftime dance to "Let your heart beat again" by Danny Gokey. Before their dance, Emma Hackler, junior, made an announcement where she included the suicide prevention hotline number.
“I got better trying to help my teammates the best I could,” said Colton Neitzel, sophomore.

The whole game was very exciting and everyone was on the edge of their seats.

By half, the Indians were winning, but after halftime they started to lose their lead. The ending score was 52 to 54. Saint Francis only lost by two points. It was a very disappointing loss, but the Indians know now not to let up on their energy. They know that they need to have the same amount of energy throughout the whole game.

“If I could redo anything, I would replay the whole second half. We lacked defense and they started shooting lights out,” said Brady Dinkel, junior.
